Alexis Leigh
…is a writer and practitioner of self-healing through unconventional methods, including psychedelics and deep inner work. With a background in finance and consulting, her personal journey led her away from the corporate world and into a life centered around authenticity and transformation. Pain Is a Portal to Beauty is her first book, a testament to the power of feeling deeply and embracing the unknown.
Alexis has a B.S. in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School and a J.D. from Lewis & Clark Law School. When not writing at her local coffee shop, Alexis can be found meditating under the stars on Maui or finding adventure with her partner and their three boys. Alexis lives in Oregon.
“What struck me most was the way Alexis writes…not with pity or pretense, but with logic, compassion, and stunning clarity. A self-described no-nonsense thinker who once vowed never to touch drugs, she humbly opens herself to a new path of healing that defies judgment or stereotype. Her voice is steady and wise, reminding us that darkness isn’t something to run from—it’s an invitation to shine light. The reflections in this book hit like emotional truth bombs: gentle and searing, painful and freeing. Her story is a permission slip for anyone who’s ever felt ‘there has to be more.’”
